Hennessey, the Texan tuner known for big power has just released a bonkers 1,700 horsepower Dodge Demon. Marking the end of the production of the Challenger, Dodge made the Demon 170 , the most powerful Challenger Hellcat to date with 1,011 hp to play with. Now Hennessey have revealed a new powertrain package consisting of a twin turbocharged V8 engine which is completely bespoke that will replace the existing 6.2L supercharged V8 from the factory. That engine will be kept to one side for safe keeping.
This whole endeavour will be undertaken by a new department known as Hennessey Special Operations (HSO). Their mission statement is to “build ultra-exclusive, ultra-high-horsepower vehicles for its most discerning customers”. They will build 15 to 20 vehicles per year and only 12 of these Challengers.
