New Defender now has a 500+ hp performance option with the launch of the supercharged Defender V8. The 5.0L supercharged V8 is the same unit Jaguar Land Rover has made good of for a long time now, tuned for 518 hp and 461 lb-ft for the Defender.
The normal Defender eight-speed ZF automatic transmission, all-wheel-drive system and adaptive air suspension package remains unchanged, as well as the various off-road gear like locking differentials and the Terrain Response system. Changes have been made with bigger anti-roll bars, new active rear differential, torque vectoring and steering wheel mounted shift paddles.
