Hurrah, AMG have gone back to their roots with the V8 powered CLE 646 Spezialanfertigung. Translating as ‘custom-made’, the Spezialanfertigung has brought back the old formula of a big V8 engine stuffed into a 2-door coupe body with an aggressive styling package. Chosen for the job is the Mercedes M177 Evo engine which is a 4.0L twin-turbo flat-plane-crank unit delivering peak power of 636 hp, and 627 lb-ft of torque. Merc are quoting a 0 to 62 mph sprint time of 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 193 mph. Now for the kicker, only 30 examples are set to be made making this Mercedes-AMG’s rarest model to date, and a model very few will ever get to enjoy.
