The long-awaited sequel to Teslas first car, the Roadster, has arrived again with a sub 1 second 0-60 time and thrusters from Space X. Yep, you just read that right. The 2026 Tesla Roadster Concept comes equipped with a set of thrusters that produce over 80 kilonewtons of force and allow the car to essentially fly around, hover and do manoeuvres mid-air. crazy stuff. But that’s not all, Tesla have also gone with a fan system underneath the car capable of sucking the car to the ground and generating 2 g’s of suction.
Now to address the insane acceleration numbers. With the aid of four thrusters pointed behind the car, the Roadster concept can go from 0 to 60 mph in under 1 second. That would make it the fastest accelerating production car ever if it can actually be made for customers to buy. The next step is to look at is top speed, with Tesla aiming for at least the ability to go over 230 mph and to try and crack the sound barrier at 383 mph. More insanity.
