The Testarossa has officially returned as Ferrari’s new 1,036 horsepower mid-engined supercar. Replacing the SF90 Stradale , this new 849 Testarossa follows the recent styling trend set by 12Cilindri and F80 with the black visor bar on the nose and the sharp angular bodywork. This design language has been a bit divisive amongst fans, but I think this is still an improvement over the SF90 in the looks department.
Mounted in the middle is a 4.0L twin turbocharged dry-sump V8 engine that has undergone significant revisions to the block, camshaft, crankshaft, plenums, valvetrain, turbos and even the fuel rails. On its own the V8 will produce 818 hp, and when combined with the electrical assistance, peak power goes all the way up to 1,036 hp. This has resulted in a 0 to 62 mph sprint time of 2.25 seconds, and a top speed of over 205 mph.
