Launched alongside the coupe is McLaren’s 750S Spider, a convertible with a focus on minimising weight. The roof mechanism consists of a retractable hard top that folds away with a rollover protection system and bespoke rear upper structure. Due to the strength of the carbon fibre monocoque, McLaren did not need to include any additional reinforcement. This has kept the cars weight down, with the 750S Spider tipping the scales at 1,326 kilograms dry, lighter than the 720S Spider it replaces.
