Alpine have revealed the track focused A110 R, the lightest, most extreme version to date. This is a complete overhaul of the A110 with the suspension, exhaust, bodywork and aero all receiving a complete working over. New carbon fibre parts such as the hood, engine cover, rear wing, front splitter and wheels are lightweight and help generate more downforce and less drag than before.
Weighing in at just under 2,400 lbs, the A110 R utilises sticky Michelin Cup 2 rubber and 320mm Brembo brakes up front in order to both corner and stop more effectively. Acceleration numbers come in at 3.9 seconds for the 0-62 mph, which is quicker than the 4.2 seconds of the A110 S and the 4.5 seconds of the normal A110 .
