Equipped with a Formula E powertrain, the DS E-Tense Performance concept may find it’s way into production in the future. Featuring two electric motors positioned on both the front an rear axles to power all four wheels, the E-Tense Performance boasts 804 hp and 5,904 lb-ft of torque. Yes, that is not a typo. 5,904 lb-ft of torque is correct, but it’s a measurement taken from the wheels instead of the conventional way that’s measured from the crank.
The chassis is a carbonfibre monocoque with the battery housed in a carbon and aluminium composite structure. Both the powertrain and battery are set to go through a development phase, hinting at DS potentially bringing the E-Tense Performance into production. At the very least, this powertrain is likely to be used somewhere down the line.
