In a move that is sure to disappoint, Cadillac have not used V6 engine from the old ATS-V in the new CT4-V, instead opting for a lower power Inline 4. The result of losing 2 cylinders is a loss of 130 hp, with peak power now rated at 325 hp compared to the 455 hp of the ATS-V. Torque has also dipped a little, going from 405 lb-ft to 380 lb-ft, and the 0-62mph acceleration has taken a hit stopping the timer a full 1 second slower.
The styling of the CT4-V is smart and nice looking enough to attract plenty but lacks the more aggressive visual cues of past V cars from Cadillac. In essence the exterior matches the watered down mechanicals, with fans having to hope for a higher performing V car in the future.
