After Bentley released an all new Continental GT at the beginning of 2018 it came in coupe form only, now ready for the 2019 model year is the Bentley Continental GT Convertible. The new Continental GT Convertible represents the same jump in technology and performance as the coupe, sharing the same platform and powertrain. Well known for it’s large size, comfort, refinement and solid feel, the new Continental adds some dynamic capability into the mix.
Launching with a large 6.0L W12 engine aided by two turbochargers, the Bentley Continental GT Convertible produces 635 PS (466 kW) and a huge 664 lb-ft (900 Nm) of torque at just 1,350 rpm. These figures enable the big convertible to reach 100 kph from standstill in 3.8 seconds, and sail on to a top speed of 207 mph (333 kph). The W12 sends all that torque through an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, running through an all-wheel drive system that can constantly vary the amount of drive sent to each axle depending on load and traction. Bentley has plans to eventually introduce a new hybrid V8 engine option for the Continental line-up, but for now the W12 is the only option.
