Built by Mauer Racing of Switzerland, the IS-F Race Car will be used as customer experience racers and demonstrators. Three units were made and shipped to a Lexus dealership in Brisbane Australia, where they are condiering actually racing the cars at some point in the future.
The engine chosen is a 4.7L V8 developed by TRD that was also used in some Daytona prototype race cars in the US. Peak power has been rated at a healthy 600 hp that will lug around a lighter 2,843 pound kerb weight thanks to wide-body cage monocoque. A six-speed Hewland transmission is mounted at the rea of the car, and 18-inch BBS wheels wrapped in racing tires help provide some extra traction.
