Maserati have unveiled at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show a harder edged GranCabrio Sport that will sit alongside the GranTurismo S and the Quattroporte Sport GT S as the performance flagships of their respective ranges. The Maserati GanCabrio Sport has received updates to the exterior styling, headlights, engine and suspension, setting a point of reference in the convertible car market.
Power and torque from the V8 powerplant has been increased by a modest 11 PS and 5 lb-ft over the regular GranCabrio for the new Sport model. That brings to total power available to 450 PS (331 kW), as well as an improvement in fuel economy from the tweaked setup. Also amongst the changes is the addition of a 6-speed MC Auto Shift transmission that will provide faster shifting times, a much needed improvement for the GranCabio.
