After skipping the B6 generation with out any RS4 model, Audi returned to the high performance version of it’s A4 in 2005 with the B7 platform. For the first time the RS4 was available in sedan, avant and cabriolet variants, providing options never previously seen for Audi performance cars.
Differences to the S4 include flared front and rear wheel arches to allow for a wider front and rear track and bigger tyres. Bigger front air intakes to feed the two extra side mounted radiators were also fitted. Construction consists of a fully galvanised steel monocoque design, with use of lightweight aluminium in the front fenders and hood.
