Travis Pastrana was born in Annapolis, Maryland, in 1983, and was riding motorcycles almost as soon as he could walk. He won the first freestyle motocross gold at the X Games as a teenager and became the face of a sport that measured itself in how far it could push what a motorcycle could do in the air.
In 2006, at the X Games, he landed the first double backflip on a motorcycle in competition — a trick most riders thought could not be done.
He moved to four wheels with Subaru, and between 2006 and 2009 won the Rally America championship four years in a row. The Impreza WRX STI in this catalogue is the road car of the rally cars he drove.
His Nitro Circus shows and films took the action-sports world on tour; he has broken more bones than he can count and appears to regard that as normal.
He has since raced in NASCAR, finishing eleventh on his Daytona 500 debut in 2023, and still competes in rallies and hill climbs.
